Over the weekend, the intense heat in NYC made me yearn for a cold beverage around the middle of each day. Typically, this would involve perspiring during a stroll to the nearby 7-Eleven to purchase a frozen beverage. This time around, I decided to remain at home and try out the newly acquired Ninja Slushi Twist. This device, the latest offering from Ninja, capitalizes on the success of its predecessor, the Slushi, while incorporating significant enhancements. The Slushi Twist boasts two 48-ounce containers that simultaneously produce two distinct frozen beverages, in contrast to a solo mixing chamber. In addition to traditional slushies, this machine is capable of producing frappés, milkshakes, frozen coffees, and smoothies. Its unique design allows the two sides to function independently, enabling the creation of both non-alcoholic beverages like mocktails and alcoholic drinks simultaneously. This appliance is ideal for entertaining, as it addresses a practical issue. Rather than creating numerous batches or having everyone concur on a flavor, the two chambers operate concurrently, producing ample frozen beverages for a gathering. Ninja claims that it can produce over 10 beverages in one batch, which is perfect for summertime celebrations or family events. The noteworthy aspect is the ‘Dual SlushAssist’ technology, according to Ninja. In simpler words, the device detects the contents of each compartment and automatically alters the freezing temperature accordingly.
