Notion restores access to Anthropic after service disruption

Early Sunday, the company reported that Anthropic’s Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models were showing degraded performance, resulting in a higher failure rate for users choosing those models in Notion AI. Notion announced it was disabling access to all Anthropic models in its AI productivity tool. Twelve hours later, Notion’s head of product, Max Schoening, said he was “astonished” by how many people were retweeting the news because they wanted to push a narrative that the decision was about model quality. (According to X’s public statistics, Notion’s post has been reposted approximately 1,200 times.) “The dip in performance was just a short-term service interruption,” Schoening said. It occurs.
