External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Kyiv on Thursday for the first-ever dedicated bilateral visit by an Indian External Affairs Minister to Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed Jaishankar, saying the two sides discussed restoring freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, global food security and bilateral cooperation.

“India is a global power and we welcome Prime Minister Modi’s call to move from an endless war towards an end to the war. Ukraine stands ready for diplomacy,” Sybiha said. The ministers also discussed infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, technology and digitalisation.
