Woman withdraws civil lawsuit against Jay-Z, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs alleging she was raped at age 13

In February 2025, an Alabama woman withdrew her civil lawsuit against rappers Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, in which she alleged they raped her when she was 13. The lawsuit, initially filed against Combs and later including Jay-Z, claimed the incident occurred in 2000 after Combs’ limo driver offered her a ride to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party. The woman’s attorneys did not provide reasons for the withdrawal. Jay-Z, who denied the allegations, called the withdrawal a “victory” and described the claims as “fictional.” Combs, currently jailed in New York on federal sex trafficking charges, faces numerous sexual assault lawsuits, many filed by attorney Tony Buzbee. Combs’ lawyers argue that the dismissal supports their stance that the allegations are false. Buzbee, whose firm represents over 150 alleged victims, has filed multiple lawsuits against Combs, claiming abuse at drug-laced parties. Both rappers criticized Buzbee, with Jay-Z accusing him of exploiting anonymity for financial gain.
