Upcoming small business workshop addresses economic uncertainty for entrepreneurs, business owners

As small businesses continue to face challenges from rising costs, labor shortages and a shifting economic landscape under a new presidential administration, an upcoming workshop will help entrepreneurs navigate through the uncertainty.

The LEE Group’s 11th annual Small Business Workshop, taking place 8 a.m. to noon on May 14 at The Corner Ballpark in Detroit, will bring together business experts, entrepreneurs and community leaders under a central theme of “Thriving Through Uncertainty: Strategies for Resilience.”

The free event provides resources, insights and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs. One of the sponsors is First Independence Bank, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.

This year’s agenda includes panel discussions, workshops and a fireside chat on topics such as finances and smart money strategies; having a resilient mindset; cybersecurity and protection from digital threats; strategies to build, retain and empower employees; and how to cultivate mental strength as an entrepreneur.

“American Black Journal” guest host Trudy Gallant-Stokes sits down with The LEE Group’s President & CEO Mark S. Lee and Dimitrius Hutcherson, president of First Independence Bank, to discuss what entrepreneurs and small business owners can expect from the event. Plus, Hutcherson talks about the services First Independence Bank provides for small businesses, including financial literacy, alternative solutions to financing, and how to navigate other challenges.
