York Regional Police said the victim met with the suspect on Jan. 18 at midnight at Teston Rd. and Jane St. to sell him a phone.

Police alleged that the suspect stole the phone and fled on foot.

Cops said the victim attempted to follow, at which point the suspect allegedly discharged a firearm in the victim’s direction. The victim wasn’t physically injured.

Police alleged that the suspect then carjacked a Honda CR-V that was idling in a driveway, threatening the owner with the firearm, and as the suspect attempted to flee in the vehicle, he lost control, crashed and fled on foot.

Police identified two suspects and with help from the Niagara Regional Police Service, three search warrants were executed at residences in Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Toronto and a fourth warrant was executed on a vehicle.
