My story:
“I’ve been watching your videos for a month and a half, and every day since then I feel that Jesus the Messiah is pursuing me in such a way that I can’t hide from him.
On the one hand it stresses and scares me, and on the other hand I feel that I have complete faith in him and that he is indeed the Son of God and died on the cross for me. This puts me in a position where I am an apostate because I come from a Muslim background.
The other day I went and bought the holy Bible from the library, and I met a friend in a cafe. My friend saw the book in my hand, and at some point he took it from me, read a bit of it and suddenly tore it up and threw it on the floor. There was a slight fight between us and it could have ended in a very embarrassing situation in front of the many people who were present. Please if someone can take the time to talk to me and guide me and also explain to me exactly what I’m going through.”
What to know
- After a couple of weeks of correspondence with our team we asked him, “What prevents you from repenting and declaring that Jesus is your Lord?” At which point he decided he would like to repent and invited the Lord to dwell in his heart!
- The penalty for apostasy in Islam is death, which means confessing faith in Jesus is literally risking your life.
- ONE FOR ISRAEL has an Arabic outreach team that reaches Israeli Arabs, Palestinians, and people in Arabic speaking countries beyond our borders.
How to Pray
- Please pray for courage for these new believers from Muslim backgrounds – they need to be very brave.
- We are hearing of new believers in Gaza — their situation is extremely difficult in every way. Please pray for them, mind, body and spirit.
- Pray for wisdom for them and for those discipling them, to know when to be bold and when to be discrete.
- Pray for more Muslims to hear the great news of the Gospel, and believe!
