Super Bowl trip gives University of Tennessee students real world experience

Article from:

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVLT) – A group of 10 hand-picked students from University of Tennessee were given the opportunity to go on a trip to the Super Bowl.

The students headed down to New Orleans last Wednesday.

They were given the opportunity to network with business professionals, as well as some UT alumni.

Students got to work various events leading up to the Super Bowl, and even got to work an event during the game.

At these events, students worked in customer service, helping guests with directions, taking pictures and assisting with any other needs around the venue.

“It’s just an amazing opportunity for them to see how business comes together and also just think about their career,” said Debbie Mackey, the advisor on the trip. “It helps them reflect on where they are, and where they might go in their career.”

Mackey said she hopes that this trip will help students decide what their goals for their career are.

She also said she hopes to expand this trip in the future. Mackey said she would love to be able to take more students in the coming years and do more trips like this to other sporting events throughout the year.
