Section of Lougheed Highway reopens in Burnaby after two pedestrians hit by vehicle

Two women were injured after getting hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 7 and North Road in east Burnaby on Tuesday evening.

According to the Burnaby RCMP, emergency services were called to the scene at 5:20 p.m. Two female pedestrians were transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and police have the intersection closed to traffic while they investigate.

Drivers are being asked to take Gaglardi Way, Brunette Avenue and Highway 1 to avoid congestion.
