According to the Burnaby RCMP, emergency services were called to the scene at 5:20 p.m. Two female pedestrians were transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and police have the intersection closed to traffic while they investigate.

Drivers are being asked to take Gaglardi Way, Brunette Avenue and Highway 1 to avoid congestion.
