The union representing over 10,000 full-time college support staff across Ontario's 24 colleges has reached a tentative agreement after nearly five weeks of striking. The specifics of the proposed settlement have not yet been disclosed.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) announced that picket lines will be dismantled today, and the details of the tentative agreement will be shared with members this afternoon. Support staff are expected to return to work on Thursday.
The workers have been on strike since September 11, advocating for improved wages, benefits, and job security. OPSEU highlighted job security as a significant issue due to campus closures, program reductions, and layoffs within the college sector.
