Martin Sheen, known for his role as President Josiah Bartlet on the acclaimed series “The West Wing,” recently shared his candid thoughts on the current administration during a live taping of The Best People podcast. He described President Donald Trump’s inner circle as a “joyless group” devoid of humanity.

Sheen expressed his concerns, stating, “It’s a mighty battle going on. It’s not about winning or losing. It’s about being in touch with your own personal humanity because there’s such a lack of it coming from this administration,” while speaking with host Nicolle Wallace.

The actor, a lifelong Democrat, criticized ICE agents, suggesting they wear masks during raids out of shame, and directed his ire at Trump’s cabinet. “When you look at this group of people at the round table in the White House, every one of them sees a reflection of their worst selves,” he remarked. “There are no heroes in that room. There’s no music, no laughter, no self-effacement. It’s filled with ego, fear, and false worship.”

Sheen also referenced Robert F. Kennedy Jr., recalling how his father, during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962, chose to reject an attack on Cuba, ultimately saving the world from nuclear disaster.
