Susan has straight, medium density and naturally dark-brown hair. She was finding that her hair was lacking shape and body, and that it was feeling flat. She loves her length but was ready to eliminate a few inches and was open to change.

Retro styles are on the rise and we’re seeing a lot of vintage inspired haircuts from the ’70s and ’80s. Susan has magnetic eyes and I really wanted draw attention to them by incorporating a versatile fringe that could be styled with a centre parting, creating a curtain bang, or as a full and shaggy fringe. I customized her cut by incorporating round layers for added body and movement, along with soft face framing layers to enhance her lovely bone structure.

Before styling this look, I misted her hair with Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer as a leave-in conditioner and for added heat protection. I then misted Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray throughout her hair for bodybuilding fullness. I blow dried her hair using a round brush and finished the look with Oribe Flash Form Finishing Spray Wax to create weightless and buildable texture.
