“We are facing the biggest crisis of our lifetimes and we are going to build our way out of it,” Carney told reporters in Vaughan Monday morning.

“(U.S.) President (Donald) Trump is trying to fundamentally restructure the U.S. economy and that means our economy will have to change dramatically.”

The plan will get the federal government back into the business of homebuilding by acting as developer to build affordable housing on public lands, providing over $25 billion in financing for “innovative prefabricated homebuilders” in Canada, an additional $10 billion in low-cost financing to independent homebuilders and cutting the red tape and expense of home ownership.
