Five players from the Toronto Blue Jays have been named finalists for this season’s Gold Glove awards, which are presented annually by Major League Baseball to recognize the best defensive players at each position in both leagues.
Ernie Clement has been nominated for two awards, being one of three finalists in both the American League’s third base and utility categories.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who was acquired by Toronto from Minnesota at the trade deadline, are contenders for the AL’s first-base Gold Glove. Additionally, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk are also finalists.

Gimenez has won the AL Gold Glove at second base for the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians, and Guerrero took home the AL first-base award in 2022.
The complete list of nominees can be found on MLB’s website, with winners set to be announced on November 2.
In the catcher category, Kirk will compete against Dillon Dingler of the Tigers and Carlos Narváez of the Red Sox. Guerrero Jr. and France will vie for the first base award against Carlos Santana of the Guardians. At second base, Gimenez faces competition from Luis Rengifo of the Angels and former Jay Marcus Semien, now with the Rangers. Clement will be up against Maikel Garcia of the Royals and José Ramírez of the Guardians for the third base award, while his utility award competition includes Mauricio Dubón of the Astros and Daniel Schneemann of the Guardians.
