FC Nomayini downs Central City

Tsakani – The recent U17 friendly game between FC Nomayini and Central City at the Green Point ground in Ext 13, Tsakani, ended in a score of 3-1.

FC Nomayini won through dedication and determination. The game started on a rocky note, with both teams struggling to score goals until the last minute.

“We struggled to score goals on time but managed to score a single goal just before halftime. Our opponents came on to us very strongly; they were resilient and hard to tackle. We made many mistakes throughout the game and forgot to communicate and share the ball equally.

“We all ran to the poles in the hope of scoring goals. We quickly realised our mistakes and tried to rectify them in the second half,” said FC Nomayini goalkeeper Kamohelo Nkosi.

Nkosi said that when their opponents equalised, they slowed down and thought they would not win. They substituted players and restored their focus, which resulted in two more goals.

“We thought we would not win the game as there was no unity among us as players. We lacked motivation but were delighted to have won the game.

“Our coach discouraged us by not attending our friendly games. But he will be proud to hear that we won every game we played,” he added.

The Central City coach did not wish to comment.
