Summer Equitz, 31, a devoted Disney fan, was found deceased near Magic Kingdom Park at Disney World. The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled her death a suicide.

A hotel guest at a Walt Disney World resort has been identified as a passionate Disney enthusiast.

Summer Equitz tragically passed away at the Contemporary Resort, one of the 25 hotels located on the Orlando property.

According to a now-deleted Reddit thread, a relative of Equitz had urged Disney fans to contact the police if they spotted her at the resort. Reports indicate that she traveled from Naperville, Illinois, to Orlando without informing anyone. The relative mentioned, “She booked a flight there without telling us, unfortunately.”

Initially, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office informed People magazine that the death appeared to be a suicide but did not disclose the victim’s identity. However, Equitz, whose body was discovered near Magic Kingdom Park, was later identified, and the Medical Examiner confirmed her death was due to multiple blunt impact injuries.

Authorities also clarified that Equitz was not struck by a park monorail, as some social media posts had suggested.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing.

This tragic event follows another incident where a woman in her 60s died after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland in California, believed to have suffered a heart attack during the ride.

In 2022, a California school principal took his own life at Disneyland, leaving behind a note that described his marriage as “toxic” and “abusive.” Christopher Christensen was facing child endangerment charges at the time, although his daughter claimed his wife was the abusive partner. In a Facebook post, he criticized the “flawed” legal system for destroying his life.
