Two arrested in Surrey after man’s car stolen

Two men were arrested last week in connection with stealing a man’s vehicle, New Westminster police said Friday.

On April 4, New Westminster police arrested two suspects after a driver reported to 911 that two unknown men forced him from his vehicle and drove away.

At the time, the driver was stopped along the roadside at Winthrop Street and McDonald Street at approximately 8:45 p.m., according to police.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and two suspects were arrested that night in Surrey.

Police said one of the suspects was found to be breaching several court ordered conditions and had outstanding warrants out for his arrest.

Charges laid after pedestrians hit by car in Squamish

A man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision that injured a pedestrian, who was pushing a baby stroller in a crosswalk last year in Squamish.

On April 22, 2024, Squamish RCMP responded to a report that a pedestrian, pushing a stroller with an infant, had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk at the intersection of Second Avenue and Pemberton Avenue.

Police allege the driver failed to remain. He was later located and arrested a couple of blocks away.

On Friday, Kyle Luca of Squamish, was charged with two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, fail to stop causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.
