Angel Reese transitioned from the basketball court to the fashion catwalk, making history in the process.

The Chicago Sky forward became the first professional athlete to participate in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, joining the brand’s prestigious “Wings Reveal” lineup in New York.

“It was destined for me,” Reese shared in an interview prior to the show. “This is meant for me. I’m thrilled to be in this room with so many incredible models and women. The team behind this event has been fantastic. I can’t wait!”

To prepare, Reese enlisted a modeling coach to refine her runway walk. “I walk, sleep, hoop,” she explained. “And I hoop, sleep, walk.”

At 23, Reese made her debut on the Victoria’s Secret runway in a stunning pink floral lingerie set embellished with blossoms and lace, complemented by a dramatic feathered stole draped over her arms, featuring soft pink and rose-toned textures.

Standing at 6-foot-3, Reese donned the iconic angel white wings that have been a hallmark of the show for years, showcasing her confidence, charisma, and crossover appeal as an athlete. She walked to the rhythm of Lumidee’s “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh).”

Reese is a former national champion from Louisiana State University and was named the NCAA tournament’s most outstanding player in 2023.

The show was livestreamed on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Prime Video in the U.S., featuring a blend of music and celebrity performances. Madison Beer, adorned with pink wings, performed “Make You Mine” while lingerie-clad models strutted down the runway.

K-pop group TWICE also took the stage, performing “This is For” and “Strategy,” while Karol G sang “Ivonny Bonita” before showcasing her own red wings and lingerie ensemble.

Reese has emerged as a prominent figure in women’s sports, using her style, outspoken nature, and social media presence to bridge the worlds of sports, fashion, and pop culture.

The lingerie show, which began in 2001, was held annually for nearly two decades before being canceled in 2019. It made a comeback last year, with Reese in attendance.
