**Logan Dorna: A Young Blue Jays Fan with a Unique Prosthetic Eye**

Logan Dorna, an 8-year-old from Richmond Hill, is not just a devoted Toronto Blue Jays fan; he literally has his eye on the ALCS prize.
Logan lost his left eye to retinoblastoma when he was just eight months old, but he recently received a specialized prosthetic glass eye designed to resemble a Blue Jays baseball. “When we went to get his new eye this year, we asked our oculist if he could have something fun that would boost his confidence and motivation,” says his mother, Taline Dorna, a school teacher.
Taline is also the author of a self-published children’s book titled *The Extraordinary Eye*, and Logan’s father works as a software developer. In addition to being a passionate Blue Jays supporter, Logan plays as an outfielder for the Cardinals in the Richmond Hill Phoenix Baseball Club.
“It’s something he can wear for good luck during his baseball games and while cheering for the Jays in the playoffs,” Taline explains. “He was thrilled to pick it up on Friday, and it made him feel really special. We’re hoping it brings some extra luck to the team!” The family enjoys watching games together, especially with Logan’s grandfather, a big Blue Jays fan.
All of Logan’s medical care has been provided by SickKids Hospital in Toronto. His natural eye color is brown, and he receives a new prosthetic eye every two years until he turns 18, after which he will need replacements every eight to ten years.
