Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a press briefing on Monday.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, saying there are 200 officers in the government in touch with the Opposition.
“You will be shocked (to hear this)…Modiji I am telling you. 200 of your officers are in touch with us,” Gandhi said a press briefing, adding that the officers working with “ED, CBI, foreign ministry are giving the information to us”. The Congress leader’s remark comes ahead of the party’s march to the Supreme Court.
“You can do whatever you want. The truth is with us,” he added.
Speaking on the ongoing protest, he said, “Till the Constitution is not upheld, and CEC doesn’t get, till elections system is not fixed. Till then, the youth of the country won’t stop. We will not back down.
He said the ongoing protests organised by the students and civil society groups were “all one single protest” against the poll body.
Rahul Gandhi also claimed that 50 per cent of the police personnel have informed that the action of the Opposition “is right and we should continue”.
“Exactly 50% of the police personnel are telling us that what we are doing is right and we should continue. Police, ITBP, CRPF, the people of India are on one side and Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Ajit Doval, Gyanesh Kumar, and 4-5 members of the Election Commission who are facilitating ‘vote chori’ and hijacking the country are on the other side. We are increasing this divide,” Gandhi said.
