An Ottawa man convicted of several firearms-related offences is wanted by Toronto Police for allegedly removing his ankle monitor.

On Feb. 17, 2023, Kuot Akoi was charged but released from custody with conditions to wear the device.

The 30-year-old was recently convicted of the charges and was to turn himself in and start serving his sentence.

However, on Thursday around 2:05 p.m., Toronto cops responded to the Yonge and Gerrard Sts. area after they say his court-ordered GPS ankle monitoring device.

Akoi is wanted for fail to comply with release order.

He is described as 5-foot-11 with a thin build and short black hair, and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and burgundy pants.
