Throughout his 13-year career in venture capital, Keith Rabois has mainly been linked with Khosla Ventures’ long-standing base in Menlo Park, California. However, that is transforming. During a speech at TechCrunch’s StrictlyVC event in New York’s West Village on Thursday night, Rabois announced that Khosla Ventures is establishing its first office outside of Sand Hill Road. A new location is set to open in New York, on 14th Street, by this fall. Rabois, who is familiar with delayed construction projects, claims it’s currently being developed. “We’ll see. “This autumn’s launch date is not clear to me.” The shift is significant mainly due to its rarity for Khosla Ventures as a whole. “Rabois stated, ‘Since we don’t have an office in San Francisco, this is a significant development for our company.’ The office will accommodate a small number of Khosla investors, including Rabois, but its distinguishing aspect is what he referred to as an ‘executive briefing center.'”
