Show me the Money: Anderson Center organizes panel of expert capital raisers

The Bridging Research & Practice event is taking place on February 26th at Kerns Food Hall.

Having resources, including funding, is essential to launching and growing a successful venture. There are options for funding out there – from family, friends, and venture capital to angel investments, pitch competitions, and government grants, there’s many avenues to raise money.

With that in mind, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is hosting its annual ‘Bridging Research and Practice’ event centered around this topic. Breanna Hale, the Center’s Executive Director said the two-hour session will cover various sources of funding, what investors are looking for, and how to find the right resources to help you grow your business.

There will be four panelists who are uniquely qualified to talk about this topic and share their experiences with researching different types of startup funding for their own ventures.

The panel includes Anca Timofte, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Holocene, Jian Huang the Founder of Survature/ Mapprio, and more recently Vizualize.AI, Joan Hemmingway, a Professor in the UTK College of Law, and Tim Pollock, the Haslam Chair of Business and a Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship. The discussion will be facilitated by Melissa Cardon.

The Bridging Research & Practice event is happening on February 26th from 4-6pm at Kerns Food Hall.
