Ubisoft co-founder Claude Guillemot dies in plane crash

He was killed in a plane crash in La Baule, a French resort town, as reported by French media sources (via Bloomberg). He was among the two individuals on the plane, and unfortunately, both of them passed away. Guillemot established Ubisoft together with his four siblings in 1986. Since its inception, the firm has released the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Prince of Persia, and Tom Clancy gaming series, along with numerous other titles. The Ubisoft control remains in the hands of the family, with Yves Guillemot, who is the brother of the aforementioned Guillemot, continuing to serve as CEO. The latter Guillemot also held the position of chairman at Guillemot Corp. Involving gaming and audio accessories, Ubisoft expresses profound sorrow over the passing of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the organization and chairman of Guillemot Corp. In a statement, Ubisoft mentioned that it was due to an accident.
