Netflix is enhancing its mobile and gaming offerings, as highlighted at its recent APAC Product Innovation Showcase. The company announced plans to roll out its updated mobile experience to more markets across the Asia-Pacific region, while advancing its gaming strategy with the ongoing expansion of Netflix Playground, a dedicated hub for kids’ games. Additionally, Netflix is extending the availability of its revamped mobile app. Following initial launches in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, and Malaysia earlier this year, Netflix intends to introduce the updated experience in South Korea and Japan this July, with further Asia-Pacific countries rolling out afterward. A central element of the redesign is “Clips,” Netflix’s response to the rising demand for short-form video content. The vertical video feed lets users scroll through short clips from Netflix’s vast library, providing fast entertainment when there’s no time for a full episode or film. Now, Netflix is expanding the idea even more. The company announced intentions to trial themed Clip collections that would curate short videos based on particular moods, genres, and interests. These handpicked compilations might include everything from unforgettable reality TV scenes to exclusive behind-the-scenes clips and standout podcast moments. Image Credits: Netflix. In addition to streaming, Netflix is also heavily investing in the gaming sector. The company revealed plans to grow Netflix Playground, its dedicated gaming platform for kids. The new addition centers on “KPop Demon Hunters,” the popular animated musical that has rapidly risen as one of Netflix’s standout family hits. The experience will debut with six mini-games, letting fans engage directly with the film’s characters and story.
