Person trying to stop shoplifter shot at Pleasanton Home Depot: police

PLEASANTON, Calif. (KRON) — The Pleasanton Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Home Depot Tuesday afternoon. Police said one person was shot after attempting to stop a shoplifter.

Police were called to the Home Depot, located at 6000 Johnson Drive, at about 2:15 p.m. They found one victim bleeding inside the store, and police said he was hospitalized. There is no update on the victim’s condition.

Witnesses told police that the victim attempted to stop a theft, leading to a struggle that ended in the man being shot.

The suspects drove away from the scene, PPD said. At about 2:30 p.m., Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies saw the suspect vehicle and arrested the suspects in the 7000 block of Ney Avenue in Oakland.
